Ministry of Senior Citizens

The Ministry of Older Adults committed to God, giver, sustainer and redeemer of life, having accepted Jesus Christ, his son, as Lord and Savior of our lives and recognizing the power of the Holy Spirit, his direction and guidance, the Ministry of Older Adults, in its best desire, has as goals to unite all older adults in a commitment to the entire Baptist work in Puerto Rico and to follow the same purposes and practices of the Baptist Churches of Puerto Rico, recognizing and affirming them through its programming.

Its main objectives are the following:

  1. Fraternize with the community of believers.

  2. Improve as Christians by sharing experiences and offering mutual support.

  3. Serve others and the community by encouraging one another to share their interests, abilities, and needs with the group.

  4. Provide opportunities for spiritual improvement.

  5. Evangelize others by fulfilling the great commission left by our Lord Jesus Christ.

Baptist Men's Ministry

The Baptist Men's Ministry of Puerto Rico, affiliated with the Baptist Churches of Puerto Rico and the American Baptist Churches, is aware of the demands of the Kingdom of God, expressed in the work of our Lord Jesus Christ and witnessed in the action of the Holy Spirit. We are committed to living and sharing the gospel that transforms and reconciles. From that perspective, with God's help and the support of local churches, we are prepared to support Baptist work in Puerto Rico and elsewhere by developing dynamic and enthusiastic programming, strengthening relationships of comprehensive fellowship, and mobilizing ourselves in action of service and support.

The main objectives of the Puerto Rico Baptist Men's Ministry are the following:

  1. To guide all people toward a vital experience with Jesus Christ through personal faith in Him.

  2. To foster fellowship and interrelationship among men of the Baptist Churches of Puerto Rico, the American Baptist Churches, and their respective organizations.

  3. To encourage Baptist men to join in Christian service in their congregation and community.

  4. Promote awareness of the programs of the Baptist Churches of Puerto Rico and the American Baptist Churches, and effectively support them.

  5. Develop effective programming by integrating the seven (7) districts and specifically the Baptist Men's Ministries of the local congregations with emphasis on the three areas of work: Fellowship, Integral Growth and Social Action.

Baptist Youth Union

The Baptist Youth Union of Puerto Rico, founded in 1924 and affiliated with the Baptist Churches of Puerto Rico, historically recognizes:

  1. That we are “collaborators of God” in his redemptive mission of humanity according to the demands of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  2. that as young Baptists we play a very important role in the work of our denomination in Puerto Rico and in the world.

  3. The organizational unity of the youth of our Baptist denomination is necessary to also be architects of the construction of the Kingdom of God in our beloved country and in sister countries.

  4. It is necessary to provide tools that contribute to the growth and comprehensive development of young Baptists in line with the disposition and principles of our denomination.

The objectives of the Puerto Rico Baptist Youth Union are as follows:

  1. Promote and strengthen the unity of Puerto Rican Baptist youth.

  2. To promote the growth of Baptist youth in biblical knowledge and in the understanding and practice of the Christian faith, fostering awareness of a comprehensive evangelistic effort that responds to the contemporary spiritual and social needs of our people.

  3. To train and develop leaders for work in their respective churches and youth societies.

  4. To educate and promote instruction on Baptist history and principles among youth.

  5. To train and develop leaders for national and international missionary work.

  6. To train and develop leaders to respond to the contemporary spiritual and social needs of Puerto Rico and the world.

Baptist Women's Ministries

The Baptist Women's Ministries of Puerto Rico will provide opportunities to every woman, young woman and girl to: become and develop as a person of God, build God's community of faith and serve God's world.

Ministerial Council

The Ministerial Council, together with the Baptist Churches of Puerto Rico, attends to and coordinates all matters related to the continuing education of our pastoral body.

The purposes of this organization are:

  1. promote fellowship and mutual support among the members of the ministerial body of the Baptist Churches of Puerto Rico,

  2. to provide for the spiritual and theological formation of its members and their families, to promote the professional development of its members through basic theological education,

  3. continuing education and advanced studies in fields germane to pastoral care, advocating for the welfare and fair treatment of its members in local church, denominational and community forums,

  4. to promote meetings of biblical-theological study and reflection around the Baptist vision and principles,

  5. keep informed and attentive to the state of the work and the country, examine it before God and Jesus Christ and take the pertinent actions and support and promote the work that the Baptist churches develop through the Baptist Churches of Puerto Rico, the American Baptist Churches of the USA and other ecumenical entities inside and outside the country.
