Faithful congregations that passionately proclaim the Kingdom of God in our communities, living the model of Christ that embraces unity and diversity.

Our mission

The Baptist Churches of Puerto Rico are an ecclesiastical body created by the congregations that make up our community of faith. We affirm our unity as the people of God by supporting, equipping and challenging congregations to live love for God, neighbor and to fulfill the Great Commission of Christ with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Our commitment

We affirm our unity as the people of God by supporting, equipping and challenging congregations to live out their love for God, their neighbors and to fulfill Christ's Great Commission with the help of the Holy Spirit. The Baptist Churches of Puerto Rico will carry out, to the extent within their jurisdiction and scope, the mission that God has entrusted to his people in Puerto Rico and beyond.

Our goals

To achieve this central objective, the Baptist Churches of Puerto Rico will promote:

  1. The development of a biblical and dynamic concept of the gospel with a deep and Christ-centered theological reflection.

  2. The strengthening and comprehensive growth of already established congregations.

  3. The establishment of new congregations and service centers.

  4. The comprehensive and ongoing development of leadership in professional and lay ministry.

  5. The development of ministries among people with special needs.

  6. Projects, activities and statements that aim to achieve a social and physical environment conducive to the integral development of each person.

  7. Relationships, mutual help and fellowship among congregations and among members of the professional ministry.

  8. The best relations with the American Baptist Churches, USA, the Baptist World Alliance, the Council of Churches of Puerto Rico, the Evangelical Seminary of Puerto Rico, the Latin American Council of Churches and other organizations related to the work.

  9. Ecumenical dialogue and the commitment of the IBPR with the institutions of which it is part or is related. j) The strengthening of our Baptist identity and education about our practices and principles.

  10. Developing comprehensive stewardship and supporting global missionary work.
